Travel along the picturesque Apollo Coast to Cape Sounion (less than 40 miles from Athens), where you will visit the Temple of Poseidon. Poseidon occupied a position in Athenian founding mythology second only to Athena herself. The temple was built in 440 BC. C., on the ruins of a temple dating from the Archaic Period. It rises above the sea at a height of almost 60 meters. It is possible that the architect who built the temple of Hephaestus in the Agora of Athens also designed this temple. The temple was built in the austere Doric style and is in memory of King Aegean who, according to legend, jumped to his death from a cliff, thus giving his name to the Aegean Sea. Lord Byron, the poet, chose this temple to engrave his name on one of the columns in the 19th century and it can still be seen today. After the guided site tour, we will take the bus along the Athenian Riviera where after 30 minutes we will arrive at our designated restaurant to taste the core of Mediterranean cuisine. After we finish with lunch we will depart from Athens’ south suburbs and head towards your hotel. Accommodation : Titania hotel / 7 dbl/twin standard rooms on HB basis.

In the morning, we will visit part of the city of Delphi, "the navel of the universe" in the ancient world, one of the main religious centers of Antiquity, when the sanctuary of Apollo, god of harmony and music, guardian of Zeus' sacred laws, attracted countless pilgrims who They came to consult the oracle. We will walk along the Via Sacra decorated with countless offerings from Greek and foreign cities, until we reach the Temple of Apollo. In addition to the statues, the cities dedicated so-called treasures to the god to house offerings in the form of small temples, such as the treasure of Sifnos, the treasure of Thebes or the treasure of the Athenians, which we will visit. In addition to the entire monumental complex, including the oracle fool, a visit to the Delphi Museum is an absolute must when you are there. It is one of the most important museums in Greece, it houses the works of art found in Delphi in a simple and pleasant way. We will also see the famous statue of the Charioteer of Delphi, perfectly preserved, dating from archaic times and which was part of a bronze votive offering that represented the victorious chariot of the Olympic Games. Finally, we will start heading back to Athens and passing from the traditional villages of Arachova and Livadeia – famous for accommodating skiers in their stays to Parnassos mountain. Accommodation: Titania hotel / 7 dbl/twin standard rooms on HB basis.

Day 9, September 29:

Argolida FD Tour with Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus & Tomb of Agamemnon (9-10 hours) Including Private Bus (+Driver) + Professional English Speaking Guide + Entrance Fees + Tolls & Taxes + Lunch excluded drinks

We leave Athens and make a brief stop at the famous Corinth Canal, which links mainland Greece with the Peloponnese peninsula, separating the Saronic Gulf from the Gulf of Corinth. We will go back three thousand years to visit the strategic enclave of the powerful Argolis, Mycenae, city of the Atrides cursed by the gods. Its impressive ruins evoke the memory of this fortress city from the 2nd millennium BC, 'rich in gold' in the words of Homer, which, ruled by warrior tyrants, plunderers, and hunters, was the cradle of the Mycenaean civilization. We will begin the visit by appreciating the Cyclopean walls, made with stones joined together without any mortar. We cross the famous Puerta de las Leonas, in which the symmetry of the forms is masterfully achieved. We thus enter the acropolis, where we can visit its palace and its circles of tombs, especially the Treasury of Atreus or Tomb of Agamemnon, the largest and most beautiful of all, with its majestic funerary chamber. We will also visit the museum of the archaeological site. Later we will delve into the culture of the 4th century BC, in a solitary area, in the middle of the gentle hills of Argolis, the remains of the sanctuary of Aesculapius appear, hero and god of Medicine, whose oracle came to consult all Ancient Greece. The beauty of the landscape, the majesty of its lines and the harmony of its proportions have made the Theater of Epidaurus the most accomplished example of the Ancient world. Vision and acoustics are fully guaranteed from any part of the cave. Return to Athens around 7:00 p.m. Accommodation : Titania hotel / 7 dbl/twin standard rooms on HB basis.
